My Reflection

Reflection

"The highest form of art is not appreciation from others, it is lasting of yourself."

My communication skills have developed throughout my years of learning. I have experience in a range of different types of Communication such as ethical thinking in Liberal Arts, Conflict and negotiation, and Christian worldview, which breaks down other religions and why people stand on their beliefs. I've had the opportunity to work with ABC 30 News as well as UNIVISION21 Spanish News in Fresno California to understand the aspect of journalism within Communication media.

I have done numerous presentations throughout my years of study where I worked with people from various backgrounds. I was selected for a Conflict and Negotiation boards, where I and other Scholars were given real-world scenarios that needed to be critically negotiated under time pressure. Through these events, I went from the top 10 to the top 5 out of 100 participants. Being able to digest complex storylines is crucial in the Communication field as it develops a cornerstone of success.

I have proven the ability to work well with others to produce and deliver high quality work in group projects. Moreover, I am able to produce work under extreme time pressure and maintain professionalism, while continuously practicing effective time management with daily workloads. I have learned a lot about problem-solving in difficult situations and manage them to turn into manageable tasks. Engaging in this diversity has lead me to fully equip myself to educate others and develop new scholars in the Communication field.

I look forward to adequately prepare lessons to teach and interact with this culturally and linguistically diverse population that we have today. This is where the “tiered approach to supporting all students” takes place. Instruction will differ for every student and strategies and practices will be used interchangeably to best support them in the development of their Communication skills.
